Curtis Homes had the pleasure of speaking with one of our very own Project Managers on our Five-Minute Friday Series! Cole is a PM in Bend, Oregon and is overseeing the construction of a beautiful new home along the Deschutes River.
Below is a short overview and recap of our conversation surrounding Cole’s experience as a Project Manager with Curtis Homes.
Q: Where are you at right now?
A: I am standing on the job site of Curtis Homes’ 2020 COBA Tour Home! It is a unique location as it is situated privately along the Deschutes River. There is a private beach perfect to enjoy during the Summer time. This home is roughly 4,000 squarefeet with an Additional Dwelling Unit (ADU) typically utilized by guests or in-laws!
Q: What are some of the things that you enjoy about the work you do?
A: I enjoy the process of seeing something go from paper to vertical. I also enjoy all of the finishing details especially the finish work that comes along with wood details. It’s a very satisfying feeling handing over the keys to a new homeowner.
Q: What are some challenges you face as a Project Manager?
A:Â Challenges come and go day by day. Currently the challenges that have been posed by Covid-19 are at the forefront of our work. Keeping spaced out and everyone safe is our top priority.
Q: What is one of your favorite projects to date?
A: This home that I am currently standing in front of! With all of the unique details and custom finishes this is the highest level of home that Curtis Homes as built yet.
Q: What advice can you offer someone looking to enter the realm of Project Management?
A: Tough work ethic and perseverance. You’ve got to strive to be better every day and don’t make the same mistake twice; learn from your mistakes.
Q: Any last words?
A: Come see us on the Tour this year! 🙂
