At Curtis Homes, our logo is more than just a design—it’s a reflection of our history, values, and purpose. The fleur de lis, a classic French symbol, holds deep meaning for our company, representing both our origins and our commitment to building not just houses, but hope.
A Symbol Rooted in Our Beginnings
The story of Curtis Homes begins in an unexpected place—New Orleans, Louisiana. During his freshman year at Corban University in Salem, Oregon, Cameron Curtis witnessed the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. The storm left thousands homeless, and the need for skilled tradespeople was overwhelming. Cameron felt called to help, so he traveled south to contribute his time, energy, and craftsmanship to rebuilding homes—and restoring hope.
It was in New Orleans, amidst the hard work of gutting and rebuilding homes, that Curtis Construction & Remodeling was born. The experience shaped not only Cameron’s career but also his vision for what a homebuilding company should stand for: quality, resilience, and service.
Why the Fleur de Lis?
The fleur de lis, a well-known emblem of New Orleans, was chosen as a key part of the Curtis Homes logo as a tribute to the company’s origins. But beyond that, it serves as a daily reminder of the core values that guide our work:
- Building hope – Just as Curtis Homes started by rebuilding lives in New Orleans, we continue to approach homebuilding with a sense of purpose and care.
- Commitment to service – We believe in creating homes that truly serve the needs of families, just as our early work served those in crisis.
- Family tradition – As a family-owned business, we prioritize integrity, quality, and relationships in every project.
More Than a Logo—A Legacy
At Curtis Homes, the fleur de lis isn’t just a design element—it’s a reminder of where we came from and why we do what we do. Every home we build carries the same dedication and heart that first took root in New Orleans, ensuring that our work is about more than just construction. It’s about creating places where families can thrive, memories can be made, and hope can be built—one home at a time.
