The Farm at Park Place, The Dalles

The Farm, at Park Place floor plan was designed by Muddy River Design.  It is an American traditional farmhouse with a wrap-around porch, out door eating area,  and loads of charm.  This home is being built at Park Place in The Dalles, Oregon.  The home is for sale, and the new neighborhood boasts views of both Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams.  The new neighborhood is only a couple blocks from the famous Sorosisris Park!  The Farm, will be 8minutes from garage to freeway or downtown. Learn how you could make this your new home and even choice the finishes by contacting the Curtis Homes office.  Builder Cameron Curtis will meet to share our process.

Hood River Children’s Park Re-Opening!

It has been a full summer for Curtis Homes and the blog has taken a back seat to the fun!  In addition to building homes our team volunteered to help build a park!  A portion of every home sale we give back to the community.  Building strong communities is so important!

Gilbert Neighborhood Update

The eight lot neighborhood, with differing home styles by Muddy River Design, is taking shape and families are moving into finished homes.  Cameron and Curtis Homes’ Team are proud of this neighborhood!  We want to bring to our industry and community an energy efficient neighborhood with classic looking homes with lots of built-in character. Homes that are sustainable as well as beautiful!

Each home has an energy rating from the Energy Trust of Oregon upon completion.  This rating will stay with the home as a rating on it’s energy standard.  We use energy sustaining building techniques as well as products that set these family homes up for success.

In conjunction with a livable and sustainable home is the unique design of every home, we have a craftsman, traditional, farmhouse, prairie, foursquare style homes.  As you pass through the street each home stands alone as a special and vibrant part of the neighborhood.  There is one lot left!

Follow the process more closely by following up on Instagram.  Look-up #gilberthomesHR to see the whole journey!

Meet the Curtis Homes Family!

Welcome to our Curtis Homes’ blog!

We (Cameron and Emily Curtis) have been building for ten years in the Columbia River Gorge and now in Bend, Oregon.  The history detailed out is on our About Us page, but for people who have followed our story for awhile or your just getting to know us here is a little about Curtis Homes.

The first bit about our company either of us would tell you is that we have the best team IN THE WORLD (yes, that was shouted).  From Julie and Danielle in the office, to Project Managers Thad Iremonger (in Hood River) and Jeremy Fields (in Bend), and Alonzo in the field, each of them works together to build families beautiful-stustanable homes.  Each home is built as if we were moving into it.   What we’d tell you next about our family business, is that taking care of our clients is so important to us.  We are relational. Our Curtis Homes’ team wants people to feel heard and seen,  home walk-throughs, good communication and a defined process are ways we do our best to take the unknowns out of building.

Together as a family and work-family we build homes that will be a lasting legacy in the neighborhoods we build in. A legacy you can live in.

It’s all Good in the Hood!

Our photographer Jen Gulizia, owner of Gorge-us Photography, captured a completed Curtis Homes’ neighborhood.  Often, Curtis Homes shares photos of recently finished house, but one of the most satisfying parts of the job is seeing a home a year later being loved and lived in.  It is rewarding to see yards with grass, kids playing in the driveways, families having dinner in the dinning room or cooking together in their kitchen.

Cameron Curtis- Owner of Curtis Homes

Cameron & Emily Curtis, Together building homes & a family in the Gorge.

Cameron & Emily Curtis, Together building homes & a family in the Gorge.

Builder Cameron Curtis takes great pride in his work.   “The most rewarding part of my job is helping families build a home and find a piece of land to call their own,” Cameron comments. Since starting Curtis Homes in the early-2000’s Cameron and wife Emily Curtis have been building the company, with the goal of building quality homes less chaotic and stressful for families.  This may seem like a lofty goal since building a home is a collaboration big decisions, a large investment and effects the whole family.

Curtis believes having open communication and listening to clients, as well as having clear steps to walk clients through in making home choices (from design to finishings) all make the home building process less overwhelming.  Together as a family, Cameron and Emily continue to invest in their local Hood River community and company Curtis Homes.  They are both grateful for their team of craftsmen, local sub-contractors, and office staff who help craft each home.
