It has been a full summer for Curtis Homes and the blog has taken a back seat to the fun! In addition to building homes our team volunteered to help build a park! A portion of every home sale we give back to the community. Building strong communities is so important!
The eight lot neighborhood, with differing home styles by Muddy River Design, is taking shape and families are moving into finished homes. Cameron and Curtis Homes’ Team are proud of this neighborhood! We want to bring to our industry and community an energy efficient neighborhood with classic looking homes with lots of built-in character. Homes that are sustainable as well as beautiful!
Each home has an energy rating from the Energy Trust of Oregon upon completion. This rating will stay with the home as a rating on it’s energy standard. We use energy sustaining building techniques as well as products that set these family homes up for success.
In conjunction with a livable and sustainable home is the unique design of every home, we have a craftsman, traditional, farmhouse, prairie, foursquare style homes. As you pass through the street each home stands alone as a special and vibrant part of the neighborhood. There is one lot left!
Follow the process more closely by following up on Instagram. Look-up #gilberthomesHR to see the whole journey!

Curtis Homes recently finished our first Farmhouse in Bend, Oregon! The home was built in Northwest Crossing in Central Oregon and the Farmhouse was designed by Adam Peterson, owner of Muddy River Design. The home is set apart by it’s wrap around porch, white exterior, stucco chimney and black grid windows by Milgard. Taking a peek inside the home, there is tall ceilings, built-ins, extra tall cabinets, butcher block island, subway tile, shiplap wall (of course) and views of the NW Crossing pond!
Not only does this house have character for days, but the home is rated Gold by Earth
Advantage. The rating means that the home’s sustainability and built in energy-effciant measures will ensure this Farmhouse’s livability will be for a very-very long time- building a legacy you can live in.
Thank you Energy Trust Oregon for touring two of our homes in our Gilbert Neighborhood, Hood River, Oregon. The Gilbert Neighborhood homes are special, all designed to be energy efficient and have an EPS score. The EPS score is a way of measuring how energy efficient is the home. The houses in Gilbert make-up the first neighborhood in Hood River, Oregon to to all have an EPS rating! If you haven’t heard of the Energy Trust of Oregon, head to their website to learn more about their mission of helping homeowners and the building industry work towards being more “green” or energy efficient or even net-zero. There are many ways Curtis Homes builds mindfully and energy conscious. Some techniques are hidden once the home is finished, and some of the methods are visible in daily use of the finished home. Two examples, are wrapping a home in an outer insulation called a thermo sheathing, which gets siding on top of it, but works hard for the home keeping in warmth or cold AC air. In contrast to the unseen energy updates, inside the whole house is fitted with LED lighting on dimmers and a plethora of well placed windows for natural light.

If you have been checking up on our “Homes for Sale” tab you have seen the four new homes we listed in Hood River, Oregon. A home plan that is the favorite of many families is the Olympia home plan by Alan Mascord. This home is being built in the neighborhood on the Heights of Hood River off of Sievercropp drive in the Mt. Vista neighborhood. The neighborhood is well-known for having a park in walking distance, views of the surrounding hills, great location, family-friendly and beautiful new homes!

Curtis Homes built a rustic style home in White Salmon, Washington. The home features impressive wood beams, a re-claimed barnwood wainscoting in the main living areas and wood accents wrapping the exterior of the home! Builder Cameron Curtis commented, “the home is a one-level with wood accents that turn-up the character and style of this beautiful house.” The built-in hutch and shelving continue to add to the character of this home build.
Curtis Homes is excited to announce the new Gilbert Subdivision in Hood River, Oregon! The new Gilbert Subdivision will connect two amazing neighborhoods (Meadowlark & Indian Cliff) with the newly built Roberts Drive.
